About Alfred’s Photography

I took up photography during the darkest, most difficult period of my life.   I feared that I was on the verge of losing everything, so I started carrying a camera with me wherever I went.  I took hundreds, even thousands of pictures of people I loved and things I enjoyed, trying to capture them forever in images before I lose them.

Then I realized no matter how perfect an image is, it never truly captures anything.  It is simply a two-dimensional reminder of what was once there.

Since then, photography to me has become more than just taking photos.   Rather, it is about learning to “see” the beauty and love that surrounds me everyday that has for so long gone unnoticed.   Rather than simply trying to freeze-frame and capture a moment for future reference, photography has taught me to recognize and treasure those moments in the here and now.

I hope these images that I enjoyed capturing will encourage you to do the same:  choose to see the beauty that surrounds you.  Enjoy it, treasure it and live in it.  While you are at it, remember to take a few good pictures!

Thank you for visiting,

Alfred
