Life: Lost and Found

February 13, 2012

Last night we had dinner with a couple of old friends.  We’ve known each other for more than 20 years and even though nowadays our paths don’t cross as often as before, each time we get together it is as if we’ve just seen each other yesterday.

During the enjoyable dinner, it once again occured to me that life is not so much a game of wins and losses as much as a process of lost and found.  Along our journeys, at times we lose sight of what is important and chase after things that don’t matter in the end, sometimes losing our way doing it.  As we grow, we find and discover what really matters to us.  And more often than not, when we make those discoveries, we find out that the things that are important, the things that matter, are things that we already have with us all along. :-)
